Job description / Role
We are seeking a talented and experienced Sous Chef specializing in Italian cuisine to join our team in Dubai, UAE. The ideal candidate will be passionate about Italian culinary traditions, possess exceptional leadership skills, and have a proven track record of delivering high-quality dishes in a fast-paced kitchen environment. Responsibilities:
- Assist the head chef in planning and directing food preparation for all Italian dishes on the menu
- Supervise and coordinate the work of kitchen staff, ensuring that all food is prepared and presented in accordance with established recipes and quality standards
- Assist in the development of new menu items and the creation of innovative Italian dishes
- Ensure that the kitchen operates in a timely and efficient manner, maintaining high standards of cleanliness, organization, and food safety
- Contribute to the training and development of kitchen staff, providing guidance and support as needed
- Collaborate with the head chef to manage inventory, control food costs, and optimize kitchen operations
Requirements
- Proven experience working as a Sous Chef or in a similar role, with a focus on Italian cuisine
- In-depth knowledge of Italian culinary techniques, ingredients, and flavors
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team
- Passionate about delivering high-quality Italian dishes and dedicated to upholding culinary excellence
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure kitchen environment
- Creative mindset and a keen eye for detail, with a focus on innovation and continuous improvement
- Familiarity with food safety and sanitation regulations
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
