AAW is an independent Consulting Engineering firm established in 1957 in Cairo, Egypt, to serve the national developments in Egypt, Middle East and African countries by providing Professional Engineering Consultancy Services for ; Water Supplies & Sanitation, Roads, Highways, Bridges and Airports, Power Supply, Industrial Facilities, Irrigation & Drainage, Land reclamation, Urban & Regional Planning and Service Buildings.

AAW is managed by a Board of Directors, chaired by Dr. Ahmed Abdel Warith, who has been Dean of Faculty of Engineering, Vice Rector of Ain Shams University in Cairo and Member of the WHO Expert Advisory Panel on Environmental Health. The Board consists of Executive Vice Presidents and Directors of Divisions, who presides over the operations of 850 permanent staff of engineers, planners, architects, economists, managers and technicians constituting the AAW work force.
