Procurement Engineer

JOB DESCRIPTION / ROLE

Employment: Full Time

• Collaborate with the Project Engineer to develop well-structured procurement plans for equipment, services, and supplies, aligning with project schedule and objectives.
• Obtain quotes from vendors for materials and equipment and collaborate with Project Coordinators, Planning Engineers, Site Engineers, and Stores on a daily basis.
• Finalize chosen contractors and start the project upon receiving permits, adhere to BOQ / Budget / Drawings while following approved payment terms.
• Coordinate with the Design, Estimation team & Project team for pricing reference of multiple tender projects at the same time.
• Ensure contractor and supplier invoices are pre-approved by the finance team and immediate superior, purchases follow order confirmation, and maintain accurate supplier files and records.
• Regular market research and carrying out regular vendor ratings and other responsibilities as maybe assigned from time to time.

REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering / management / contracts
• Minimum 3 years’ related experience in civil marine construction industry
• Good knowledge in Excel, Word, PPT, CAD etc
• Good in contract terms and negotiations
• Well-versed with materials, equipment and services related to marine EPC works such as earthworks, construction vehicles, marine vessels, diving equipment, heavy-lifting gears and special items as required
• Must have own database of suppliers and subcontractors to source for materials/works in marine industry
• Flexibility to travel and post in project sites, mostly in UAE and KSA
• Must have good English communication and writing skills
