Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Our Client is a large reputable group, the market leader within FMCG arena in Angola. This is #2 position in Finance for one of the Retail/Supermarkets business unit of the Group.

Performance indicators:
• Capex
• Stock counting and Inventory indicators (nb day stock)
• General Expenses

Duties:
• Organizes and coordinates the business cycle, particularly budgets, plans, and monthly performance reviews
• Analyses and explains all management cycle results.
• Offers suggestions for improving the financial performance.
• Analyses the monthly P&L and proposes action plans for improvement. Monitors the realization of these action plans.
• Special focus on distribution costs and margin management
• Ensures the application of procedures via business/position management auditors.
• Anticipates any event likely to impact results, and suggests solutions.
• Ensures the profitability of all expenditure or investment commitments (Business Case).
• Monitor and improve the working Capital by challenging the overstock and the supplier payable term agreement.
• Guarantees the monitoring of result and management indicators, in collaboration with Operations.
• Manages and supervises the work of a team of Financial Controllers
• Supervises the inventory process and procedure
• Update and improve the operational procedure
• Analyze results and provides support for Business Units.
• Participate in special Project such as WHMS implementation by ensuring that all basics controls are in place and system are integrated.
• Perform an annual Cashier audit control in each store to check that the process is followed and to anticipate major discrepancies.
• Liaise with the Bank for Functional/technical issues for the Credit Card and cash issues.

Requirements

• Ability/willingness to work in Angola
• Bachelor Degree in Finance & Accountancy as a minimum
• MBA or Professional Accounting Qualification is a plus
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in Supermarkets is a MUST!
• 5-8 years’ experience in a similar commercial position in Retail/Supermarkets business in emerging markets
• People management experience
• Ability to flourish in a fast-paced, complex environment and willing to adapt to change
• Diligent with strong attention to detail
• Good understanding of business as well as financial issue
