Job description / Role
• Plan, organize and manage the electronic and electrical systems installation for new build vessel projects
• Monitoring overall progress and use of resources, initiating corrective action where necessary
• Reporting by the agreed lines on project progress through the highlight reports and end-stage assessments
• Study technical drawings of the vessels, specifications of electrical and electronic systems to ensure that installation and operations conform to standards and customer requirements
• Identifying problem and giving solution for electrical and electronic systems equipment during construction
• Responsible for manpower planning for electrical scope of new projects
• Responsible for build, maintain, troubleshoot and repair electrical and electronic instruments or testing equipment of vessels
• Inspect completed installations and observe operations, to ensure conformance to design and equipment specifications and compliance with operational and safety standards
• Supervise and train team members as necessary
• Supervise subcontractors for electrical works
• Responsible for commissioning and sea trial for all installed electrical and electronic equipment
• Maintains safe and healthy work environment by following, and enforcing standards and procedures of the Company
Requirements
• Degree in Electrical Engineering
• 6+ years of relevant work experience including at least 2-3 years in managerial role
• Must have experience in shipbuilding or marine industry
• Good knowledge of marine class surveyor rules
• Enough experience in construction of vessels with DP systems
• Able to co-ordinate with vendor or supplier in technical matter & commissioning
• Ability to allocate manpower and plan manpower for new projects
• Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines, strong attention to detail
• Good at building rapport with the customer in order to achieve a closer working relationship
• Have the ability to develop innovative and practical solutions to technical problems
• Have excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical disciplines, production personnel and executives
• Highly perceptive to new technologies, always striving for technical excellence
• Advanced team contribution skills and ability to perform under pressure
• Able to converse/write in English.
About the Company
Baku Shipyard LLC joint venture was founded on May 10, 2011 under the laws of Azerbaijan with State Oil Company of Azerbaijan owning 65%, Azerbaijan Investment Company 25%, and Keppel Offshore Marine 10%, has developed and put into operation the most modern shipbuilding and ship repair facility in the Caspian Sea. Main activity of the Baku Shipyard consists of the construction of a variety of vessels ranging from offshore support vessels, general cargo vessels, tug boats, crane vessels, specialized vessels and passengers vessels to tankers. The yard also undertakes ship repair and conversion of such vessels.
