Accounts Payable (AP) Manager

Job description / Role

- Responsible for the accuracy for all G/L accounts related to the purchases, supplier accounts.
- Ensure and control that all reconciliations (e.g. Cheques in Hand, landed cost calculation, provision account, purchases) are done correctly and on time.
- Developing, implementing and maintaining systems, procedures and policies within the assigned function to improve the efficiency of the department in strict adherence with all internal policies and procedures.
- Performing the periodical closing process (monthly, quarterly, yearly), ensuring the accuracy of the financial statements and strictly respect the deadlines.
- Developing and implementing control mechanisms to avoid any chance of fraud and manipulations in line with group guidelines and policies and monitor their efficiency.
- Respects the procedures in accordance with the DOA.
- Ensures budget compliance during the financial year and proposes corrective measures if and when necessary.
- Responsible for the overall cost reduction within the country, proposing and reviewing cost reducing activities and monitoring the effectiveness of the implemented solutions.
- Sets appropriate control mechanism to ensure budget compliance and takes corrective measures when necessary.

Requirements

- Bachelor degree Finance or Commerce
- CMA qualification or ACCA, ACA, CPA additional preferred
- Expertise in JD Edwards financial accounting software, PERSIS, BO, SNA or similar Accounting software
- Good knowledge on IAS / IFRS and internal policies and procedures
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- English (Full Proficiency – written and verbal)
- Arabic (good knowledge – written and verbal) an advantage
- 3+ years in a managerial role in one or more of the functional areas in Finance
- 2+ years in Retail business
