Assistant Resident Engineer - Civil

Job description / Role

Main Purpose of the Job:
Act as a Client Representative and supervise the construction works on site carried out by a contractor on a major water infrastructure project

Key responsibilities/Duties:
* Plan, monitor and supervise works of construction supervision Engineers
* Review, monitor and report on progress of works
* Review/comment and approve Contractor's design, material submittals, drawings, method statements and other project relevant documentation
* Attend factory and site testing and inspection of equipment and materials
* Convene and chair technical and progress meetings with all concerned parties
* Prepare technical and financial reports related to the project
* Provide advice to the Client on contractual and construction matters
* Provide professional support to the management team within the Division, helping to ensure high quality service delivery and a co-ordinated response to clients
* Liaise with all parties for site safety

Requirements

* Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering
* Licensed / registered engineer with a recognized authority
* Minimum of 15 years of engineering experience, 10 of which will have been in construction supervision and minimum 8 years on projects in water/wastewater sectors preferably in the Middle East
* Familiarity with applicable international standards
* Experienced within a consultancy environment specifically in the water/wastewater industry
* Strong verbal and written communication skills in the English language, with good report writing, analytical and computer skills
