Product Manager

Job description / Role

We are considering expanding into new business lines and developing our internal systems. For this purpose, we need a product manager with a business acumen and a technical flair. Responsibility will cover managing the complete product life cycle of a new research portal/database in addition to helping the company adopt an internal system for information storage and knowledge sharing.

Areas of responsibility include but not limited to:
- Developing a detailed product strategy and implementation roadmap in line with business priorities and requirements
- Managing complete product life cycle from initial concept to final delivery
- Creating functional specifications, user story and success criteria
- Performing content and technical due-diligence to identify most effective technology solutions
- Coordinating and aligning between all key stakeholders (external technology vendor, internal research content team, and management)
- Serving as a resource on design, process, manufacturing, test, and quality
- Oversee bug testing and reporting with external technology vendor and internal research content team
- Establishing an efficient and effective push / pull mechanism for feedback on the product that can be incorporated into the future product roadmap
- Providing potential support to the marketing and sales of the final research portal/database

The manager will be someone who can work autonomously, own projects or tasks and bring them successfully through to completion. In addition, the manager needs to continuously seek/propose areas of improvement in new and existing products.

The manager will be a proactive team player and ready to help in a variety of areas, even those outside the original scope of work. Other potential areas which may need the product manager’s support include assisting with company website development and other technology requirements.

Requirements

- A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in business, computer science or any other technical-related field
- Over five years of work experience in a fast paced environment (no upper limit)
- Strong communication and negotiation skills
- Exceptional project management skills
- Ability to set and manage expectations
- Strong multi-tasking skills, high attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Committed to maintain high quality standards and meeting deadlines under pressure
