Property Risk Engineer

Job description / Role

Objective:
Responsible in working closely with clients, brokers and a broad variety of insurance underwriters to help them identify, evaluate and mitigate risks.

Main Responsibilities:
Conducts on site-risk engineering surveys for existing and prospective Clients, as required by clients, brokers or underwriters. Produces a detailed risk engineering survey report for client, brokers and/or Underwriters.The risk appraisal process includes preparation of a plant/process/product description,
assessment of plant/process/product design, hazards and adequacy of mitigation
measures, assessment of management systems/procedures and plant protection
facilities, and loss estimate calculations.
Consult with clients on ways to control hazards in order to reduce or prevent losses and look technically sound opportunities for improvement in line with the clients’ objectives and clearly articulate these opportunities in a report. Consistently influences clients to implement suggested opportunities.
Assumes ownership for allocated surveys and assists in the follow-up of key
improvement opportunities recommendations and ensuring that risk engineering
information database is up to date.

Requirements

University Qualifications:
Graduates with a degree in Civil, Mechanical, Chemical or Industrial Engineering

Other Skills:
- Working experience in industrial surroundings for a period up to 5 years is a preference.
- Successful candidate should have good written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledgeable in using MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Lotus Notes/Outlook) and other PC software applications.
- Multiple language skills with at least adequate knowledge of English in writing and
speaking and knowledge of at least one other European language, French, Spanish or German.
