JOB TITLE: Senior Supervisor - Construction (Mechanical)

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Supervising construction activities and field personnel related to mechanical, piping, painting, insulation, refractory and fireproofing discipline.
- Conduct tool box talks
- Monitoring daily construction activities and daily progress in his area
- Promotes job site safety, encourage safe work practices and rectify job site hazards immediately. Regularly participation in HSE meetings, daily jobsite walks, conducts toolbox talks and keep records.
- Build right first time in line with QinC initiative and put maximum efforts to get inspection records signed off with no/minimum punch list items.
- Implement construction work processes, project procedures and instructions within assigned operations.
- Prepare reports relating to construction progress, job manpower forecasts etc.
- Alert Construction Manager or Construction Superintendent whenever any aspect of the work does not comply with the contract requirements or is being performed outside of the contract scope.
- Attend subcontract/cost awareness sessions and understand the Responsibility matrices, BOQ & preambles of subcontract.
- Provide solutions to subcontractor's problems in order to achieve the successful execution of the project. Verify that the material handed over to the Subcontractor is controlled, preserved and issued for the intended purpose.
- Serves as a coach and mentor for less experienced staff
- Input site construction feedback in Construction Observation Form
- Closely monitor additional work of Site Instruction until work is completed and to inform Subcontracts team for closure of Site Instruction.

Requirements

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

- Renowned knowledge on equipment installation/maintenance/pre-commissioning; understanding the workings of Gas Turbines, Centrifugal Compressors, Reciprocating Compressors, Steam Turbines, and their auxiliaries (lube oil system, fuel gas system, seal gas system, steam system etc) supervisor lifting teams in the lifting of rotary machinery and coordinate with subcontractor and inspection of validity of lifting equipment, conduct preliminary checks to ensure ground conditions are good for installation. To assist the superintendent to perform planning and scheduling for the assigned works.
- Training of subcontractors with the 9 lifesaving rules and the installation of equipment, not limited to Levelling, alignment and soft-foot.
- To perform Quality Control inspection on material received, installation in-progress and final process inspection on the assigned works.
- Able to understand a material packing list and identify the material required for the installation and cross reference with the PO.
- The Ability to understand and implement mechanical drawings (section DWG; construction DWG; P&ID; Levelling and alignment specification, Soft-foot specification, flushing/blowing procedure; piping specification; spring supports hot-alignment methods)
- Implement Clean Build Plan for all pipes and spools and Petrofac's Flange management procedure. Ensure implementation of Go/NoGo and safety checklist prior to pressure testing.
- 10+ Mechanical and Piping site experience in direct hire construction with an international oil & gas EPC company and with subcontractors
- 10+ HVAC site experience in direct hire construction with an international oil & gas EPC company and with subcontractors
- Good communications skills
- Have a thorough working knowledge of International Codes and Standards, specifically ASME and API Codes/practices, and specifications.
- Has knowledge and experience to solve mechanical / HVAC, piping, painting, insulation, refractory and fireproofing issues onsite and provide guidance to subcontractors.
- Analytic and problem-solving skills together with good interpersonal and organizational skills English fluency both spoken and written.
