Swimming Pool Technician

Responsible for pool cleaning and maintenance, including surface cleaning, filter replacement, vacuuming, and chemical balancing. Conduct equipment repairs to ensure pool functionality and perform preventive maintenance for efficient operation. Manage draining and seasonal preparation tasks, operate company vehicles stocked with tools and chemicals, and interact with customers to coordinate service appointments and address inquiries. Additionally, handle equipment management by loading and unloading tools, and utilize technology such as time tracking and pool service apps for job management and customer follow-up.

Key responsibilities:

- Pool Cleaning and Maintenance: Clean pool surfaces, empty and replace filters, and perform vacuuming to remove debris. Test and adjust chlorine and pH levels to maintain water quality. Add chemicals as needed.
- Equipment Repair: Identify and repair issues with underwater light fittings, cracks, leaks, and faulty equipment to ensure pool functionality.
- Preventive Maintenance: Conduct regular preventive maintenance tasks to ensure pool systems operate efficiently.
- Draining and Seasonal Prep: Drain pools and water lines for repairs or seasonal preparation.
- Customer Interaction: Coordinate service appointments with customers, address their pool maintenance inquiries, and accurately log billable hours.
- Equipment Management: Load and unload tools and equipment from work vehicles and maintain organized inventory.
- Technology Utilization: Utilize time tracking and pool service apps to manage job details, review daily tasks, and follow up with customers.

Requirements

- Education & Experience: High school diploma or GED equivalent. At least 1 year of prior experience as a pool technician.
- Technical Knowledge & technology Proficiency: Proficiency in common pool cleaning and maintenance practices, including equipment handling and chemical usage. Experience with scheduling or routing apps preferred, although training can be provided.
- Personal Attributes: Strong attention to detail, positive attitude, and a diligent work ethic. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Communication Skills: Effective communication skills, with proficiency in multiple languages being a plus.
- Customer Service: Friendly, professional, and respectful demeanor when interacting with clients.
