If you are looking for a position that will allow you to support the world's finest Navy and live abroad, Amentum may have the position you are looking for. We have an immediate, full-time Technical Librarian position available supporting the Forward Deployed Regional Maintenance Center (FDRMC) in Bahrain. This position will require minimal travel to Rota, Spain, and Naples, Italy to assess their library functions and train their staff.

Job responsibilities:
- Provide program-compliance oversight and support of FDRMC's Technical Libraries on behalf of FDRMC Chief Engineer (CHENG) in accordance with FDRMC's Technical Library Program instruction, FDRMCINST 5070.3
- Ensure uniform Technical Library policies and procedures are maintained and updated as necessary
- Perform semi-annual assessments on all three FDRMC technical libraries
- Aid FDRMC managers in ensuring all FDRMC locations maintain the appropriate levels of qualified Technical Library personnel
- Develop and maintain a Technical Library training and certification program, to include lesson guides suitable to ensure all Technical Library personnel are properly qualified to perform their duties
- Maintain liaison relationships with higher-authority and other activities' Technical Library program counterparts, master reference library, technical data repository, and local database/share-drive administrators for information sharing and program facilitation
- Actively oversee that the command's Foreign Disclosure requirements are complied with by cognizant technical library personnel and that exceptions are only authorized through FDRMC's Security Management office or higher authority
- Evaluate new programs and online services for technical information resources to determine applicability
- Remotely augment and aid detachment libraries/librarians, as necessary and where feasible, during periods of high workloads or personnel shortages
- Act as the control authority and issue and receipt custodian for all technical documents entering and leaving the technical library
- Perform and file annual technical library and satellite library inventories as per local Technical Library Program instruction

Requirements

Minimum Requirements
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience supporting NAVSEA technical library functions
- Minimum of one (1) year experience overseeing significant program elements of a NAVSEA technical library
- Ability to communicate effectively both in writing and orally
- Ability to effectively utilize computers, Microsoft Office Suite, and comply with Government and Department of the Navy Information Security requirements
- Must have an active secret US government clearance. Note: US citizenship is required to maintain a secret clearance.
- Strong working knowledge of Technical Library and Work Spec References requirements outlined in COMNAVFLTFORCOMINST 4790.3, Joint Fleet Maintenance Manual (JFMM)
- Strong working knowledge and the ability to retrieve and reproduce surface ship drawings and maintain access to all appropriate websites that contain U.S. Navy-related technical information
- Ability to cross-reference APL data to technical manual, drawing, NSN, NIIN, and CAGE code information
- Advanced ability in researching manufacturer drawings in efforts to procure vendor drawings in support of naval ship repair
- Expert understanding of equipment work breakdown structure (ESWBS) identification codes
- Expert knowledge of acquiring revisions for Ships Drawing Indexes (SDI) and Index of Technical Publications (ITPs) in accordance with ship availabilities
- Ability to accurately research the applicability of drawings and technical manuals for Hull, Mechanical, and Electrical Shipboard systems
- Ability to locate and distribute relevant Liaison Action Requests (LARs)
- Knowledge of all ship classes/hulls and their corresponding planning/building yards
- Knowledgeable with the Navy Standard Technical Manual Identification Numbering System (TMINS)
- Must have a strong working knowledge in security classification and the handling and disposal of classified material
- Understands Department of Defense Distribution Statements and Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) markings and handling requirements, including Foreign Disclosure
- Ability to conduct audits, install revisions and changes in technical manuals, order new manuals, keep statistics, hold training, and utilize Technical Data Management Information System (TDMIS) or equivalent
