Employment: Full Time

Brief Project Description:

The Padma Multipurpose Bridge Project (PMBP), approximately 40 km south west of Dhaka, comprises a new fixed crossing of the Padma River in Bangladesh, which will consist of a bridge approximately 6.15km long, major river training works and approximately 13.6 km of approach roads and bridge-end facilities, including toll plazas, service areas and offices. The main bridge structure component would carry a 4-lane highway, and have provisions for future installation of a single track dual guage rail line as well as other facilities including gas, power transmission and telecommunication lines.

The River Training Works Component comprises both in North & South Bank. North bank total length is around 1.5 km along the river bank and horizontal projection towards the river is around 170m. South bank total length is around 12km along the river bank and horizontal projection towards the river is around 180m.

Key Responsibilities:

* Project Management
* Administration and Planning
* Financial Management
* Strictly follow Project Financial management procedure.
* Review and Monitor monthly project financial report.
* Responsible for the managements of Main Bridge supervising activities
* Review the detailed design of Main Bridge
* Reviews the contractor's work plan, schedules and proposals of Main Bridge
* Review the contractor's Payment and Cost Control of Main Bridge
* Implement the QC/QA measure on site of Main Bridge
* Review Monthly / Quarterly Progress Report of Main Bridge
* Assist the Client in claims submitted by the Contractor
* Write/Review Substantial/ Final/ Contract Completion Reports/Certificate of Main Bridge
* Train BBA and other parties engineers
* Transfer the innovative or creative technique knowledge
* Liaise and get feedback to the Client
* Assist the Project Manager
* He will have overall responsible for quality and quantity of the total Project.
* Work as a Training Coordinator and perform as Trainer
* Promoting staff development and project team management
* Technical support and mentoring Mid and Junior level staff
* Establish and build strong team relationships via the implementation of academic learning into a working engineering consultancy environment and training of junior engineers
* Manage complex projects issues and teams of specialists and young professionals within the specialized discipline
* Strictly adhere to SMEC's Business Management System (BMS), Quality Management System (QMS) and OH&S procedures.
* Perform any other task assigned by the Project Director and SMEC Management.

Requirements

Qualifications and Experience:

* Bachelor in Civil Engineering (Masters Preferable)
* 20 years minimum professional experience
* 10 years' International experience as Deputy Team Leader / Resident Engineer
* Experience of the construction supervision in the bridges length over 1 KM as Deputy Team Leader / Resident Engineer
* International experience in construction supervision of similar bridge projects as Deputy Team Leader / Resident Engineer.
* Experience as in SAARC / ASEAN countries
* Previous experience with Chinese Contractors is preferable
