Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Role purpose:
To support Vodafone's key strategic growth areas in Digital industry and following the Agile mind-set requires a highly capable and experienced Scrum Master.
This role will be responsible for establishing an end to end agile culture within the delivery of digital channels.

You will educate employees at all levels, including senior, and at times clients, on Agile principles, providing them with tools for implementing the process in their own work; providing training sessions and teach valuable skills that lead toward the organization-wide adoption of Agile methodologies.

As a mentor, you are responsible for guiding teams into the Agile methodology, providing employees with feedback and means of improvement, catalyzing organizational growth and answering questions. They provide hands-on support to all employees, collaborating with people across widely varying levels and roles, leading teams toward further understanding and adoption of Agile as well as overall company growth and improvement.

This task entails implementing Agile process, principles and practices across all levels and departments in an organization. The Agile Coach must use techniques that increase collaboration, predictability, transparency and promote a culture of experimentation and innovation. In order to do this, the Agile Coach must also embody the Agile principles and lead by example.

You will work closely with Agile teams ensure the Agile framework is being well digested ,followed and improved over sprints.This is a very central & exciting role within the Digital Channels team, which is a newly formed team to address ever growing demands of Digital trends.

Key accountabilities and decision ownership
- Take E2E ownership and accountability of establishing agile values, methods, principles & practices for the delivery of digital projects.
- Take the role of agile Scrum Master and facilitate discussions and conflict resolution, and enable the exploration of alternatives or different approaches & ensure no impact on the delivery of projects.
- Organize and facilitate project planning, daily stand-up meetings, reviews, retrospectives, sprint and release planning, demos and other Scrum-related meetings.
- Coach and mentor team members on agile standards and best practices; ensure consistent best practices are applied across the work streams.
- Ensure the correct setup & usage of CDI tools for projects & ensure project documentations are up to date for every sprint.

Requirements

Core competencies, knowledge and experience
- Strong understanding of telecommunication and network architecture
- 3 years plus experience in managing complex projects across the CBU portfolio (Voice & Data)
- Excellent communication, presentation & reporting skills in English (both written and spoken)
- Proven track record of managing complex projects with agile methodology.
- Full awareness of the Agile Framework, methodologies and group best practices

Language requirements:
- English (B2 or above)
Any other non-native language an advantage.

Must have technical / professional qualifications:
- Demonstrating strong knowledge of and background with Agile concepts
- Possessing prior experience coaching teams in Agile adoption or as a Scrum Master
- Having some background or coursework in Computer Science
- Scrum Coach certification
- Certified Scrum Master/Scrum Practitioner.
- Certified KMPI & KMPII
- Experience coaching at large organizations
- Must have several years of proven hands-on experience in managing projects in agile environments, especially, in a Scrum Master role.
- A strong technical background and ability to understand architecture, source code & technical issues to drive effective agile delivery.
- Exceptional communication, organization, and team building skills; articulate and able to steer a meeting with presence.
- Ability to maintain calm attitude during difficult situations and handle pressure situations.
- Ability to educate, mentor and to increase Agile adoption across the organization.
- Self-starter & self-motivated with a drive to identify opportunities for improvement across the agile delivery processes.
- Highly independent, takes ownership, does not need to be told what to do and seeks feedback and execute actions.
- BSc or MSc level degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science or Telecommunications.
