Role Summary:

Partner with business leadership to manage branding, product or services promotion, and to provide functional expertise. Participate in long-term plans, and contribute to the overall business strategy. Drive customer communications program success in areas of marketing communications, digital communications & events management. Seasoned expertise in a field comprising of different approaches, methodologies, techniques & processes. Communicates solutions in own Function with impact on other Functions.

Essential Responsibilities:

- External Communications
- Support the NEA leadership team in external speaking & media engagements by developing speaking platforms & creating differentiated messaging & proof points
- Provide communications counsel to both the NEA President & CEO, along with other members of the leadership team, in their media appearances. Coordinate briefing documents for executive engagement with public stakeholders.
- Raise GE's local profile as a digital industrial company; secure a leading, favorable share-of-voice relative to competitors.
- Formulate & execute a relationship-based communications plan with key editorial staff.
- Oversee processes, procedures & practices for managing media relations activities in NEA to ensure consistent, compelling & compliant messaging in support of business
- Partner in identifying & assessing local / business emerging issues & developing crisis communications plans for potential significant threats to the GE brand. Maintain issues heat map.
- Coordinate with the corporate communications team & ensure alignment, integrated messaging & execution of GE campaigns & thought leadership platforms such as the industrial internet, advanced manufacturing, infrastructure financing, & the importance of innovation.
- Identify opportunities to increase the visibility of NEA senior executives by developing communications strategies & platforms to gain broader media exposure - telling a "One GE" story.
- Provide recommendations on strategic speaking opportunities at leading forums relevant to GE.
- Write & edit op-eds, speeches, presentations, talking points & other communications materials for the NEA President & CEO, as well as relevant senior
- Manage relevant agency relationships & build on monthly, quarterly & annual metrics.
- Social Media
- Oversee integrated creative content strategy for external positioning & storytelling.
- Define long-term scope & growth patterns across social channels for NEA.
- Evolve the presence of market & business leadership on GE's channels.
- Internal / Culture Communications
- Lead communications planning & deployment for NEA. Manage internal communications channel & rhythm, tracking ROI to ensure the best engagement mechanisms. Partner with HR to deliver an employee engagement program to create awareness, celebrate wins & drive GE culture.
- Be a strategic & trusted communications partner to leadership teams, providing guidance on complex, sensitive & business critical priorities, to enable an aligned & winning culture through a transparent & contemporized communications approach, as well as provide counsel on when & critically, when not to communicate.
- Support executive communications: developing messaging; writing; directing webcasts/webchats; video production; planning & executing all-employee & function meetings, etc.
- Support leaders with technology & product messages to empower & inspire employees.
- Partner across businesses to ensure messaging & communications tools & materials are aligned.
- Support the internal content & platform strategy for communications - locally, regionally & globally.
- Promote & seek opportunities to elevate NEA stories to the Corporate level.

Public Relations Leader:

- Support the MENAT Communications in driving unique & impactful content for regional markets.
- Work with regional partners to support awareness of GE's unique selling proposition through thought leadership pieces, speaking opportunities, interviews and partnerships.
- Develop, implement & recommend media relations campaigns & journalist management approach.
- Effectively mine & create news stories & article content, in addition to the press release cycle.
- Coordinate with regional teams to support the identification & assessment of key issues.
- Support the alignment of the regional communications team on crisis communications plans.

Requirements

Qualifications/Requirements:

- Bachelor's degree.
- 8-12 years in a combination of corporate communications, journalism & agency experience with a focus across communications sub-functions - external, internal / culture, social media - within an organization or complex global business, recognized for its successful strategies in communications.
- Proven track record of delivering on a recognized, contemporary communications strategy in support of business objectives, including digital & social media.
- Excellent news judgment, with understanding of what makes winning news stories for multiple, diverse audiences. Strong media contacts & experience working with multiple countries
- Experience in crisis communications and management.
- Demonstrated strength in building relationships with traditional & non-traditional media, & ability to drive a consistent message through diverse channels.
- Ability to understand & communicate complex business, legal, regulatory & technical issues.
- Demonstrated experience briefing executives & facilitating top-tier media interviews.
- Outstanding written & verbal communications skills.
- Creative, thoughtful, persuasive storyteller. Ability to take a stand, push back, appropriately argue for company position, and disagree without being disagreeable.
