about the role

Cloud Operations and service transition team is responsible of providing support to Orange Business internal project teams getting monitoring of their projects implemented, configuring and supporting elk for logs and data services, working closely with MAC support team (Managed Application Over Cloud) on transition phases till getting the applications on production.
The team is also representing SRE transversal team in Egypt.
The scope of this DEVOPS job is to ensure the following tasks on a 24x7 basis (on-call basis):

Technical responsibilities:
- Handle, diagnose and route in real-time incoming requests.
- Develop monitoring scripts to monitor applications, system performances and data availability.
- Provide administration services on some applications.
- Provide workarounds for major issues until permanent fix is delivered.
- Working in devops mode for all applications hosted on the cloud, this includes (but not limited to):
- Fully understanding the functionality of applications to help Application owners define their QoS matrices.
- Implementing the monitoring configuration for cloud-based applications through gitlab pipelines.
- In some cases; containerizing applications.
- Integration with the project teams from the think phase.
- Managing the service transition phase for new and migrated applications.
- Ownership of the Xymon application, its reporting and enhancement.
- Working on the build phase of any new cloud solution and making sure it is correctly handed over to the run (ex: ELK, monitoring solutions, chaos management solutions, etc..).
- Managing and maintaining a central repository for the monitoring of cloud applications and the integration with the different GITs of each project.

Functional responsibilities:
- Acting as the link between the build and the run phases
- Proposing to the project teams the most suitable monitoring solution
- Enhancing the overall monitoring process
- Representing the team with different stakeholders within the organization
- Having full autonomy within the team

Requirements

About you

Functional Skills:
- Excellent troubleshooting skills.
- Strong ability to work in a team.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Time management.
- Autonomy to work on different issues.

Technical Skills:
- Good understanding of cloud hosting solutions and architecture including Docker, Docker Swarm, Kubernetes.
- Good understanding of monitoring solutions as Prometheus, PromQl, ..etc.
- Good understanding of CI/CD tools (GIT pipeline, Jenkins, and Ansible ).
- Good linux experience.
- Good experience in working in agile and devops is a plus.
- Good understanding of micro-services architecture approaches.
- Good understanding of network protocols (CCNA is a plus).
- ITIL foundation knowledge (certificate is a plus).
- Due to the variety of the supported applications, the proficient knowledge in two or more of the below domains is mandatory:
- Operating system administration & scripting (Windows, Linux).
- Database administration (Oracle, Sybase, SQL Server, MySQL).
- Web Services (SOAP, REST).
- ELK (Elasticsearch, Logstash, and Kibana).
- Development using one of this list (Python, GO-lang, Java, node.js, C# ,PHP, react.js).
- Big Data platforms, pervious work on Hadoop or mongo DB.
- Security protocols (ethical hacking is a plus).

Educational background:
- B.Sc. in computer science or equivalent.
- Fluent in English.
- Fluent in French is a plus.
- At least 4 years of experience working within the IT field.
