HSE Advisor / Intervention Coach - Long term contract, Major Operator, Algeria
A Major Operator is currently searching for a HSE advisor to join the HSE interventions team. The ideal candidate will come from a fire fighting background with experience in a full range of firefighting actives and worked with Oil & Gas Drilling and Production assets, Warehouses and active Aviation fields. The operations are based in Algeria on a remote desert location and you will be expected to work between their assets. Employment is via an annual, renewable, day rate contract on a 4/4 or 3/3 week on/off rotation.

Duties include:

- Assist in the development and implementation of a new Fire Fighting organisation for all sites, to include training plans, work routines and the inspection and maintenance of safety critical and firefighting equipment both fixed and mobile.

- Provide mentoring, advice, training and development for Intervention Team personnel.

- Develop and deliver in house training programmes to ensure competency is attained, proven and maintained.

- Training of non-Intervention personnel involved in high risk maintenance and inspection procedures, to include the use of airline and breathing apparatus equipment and procedures.

- Provide training and advice on response to aviation incidents and emergency response procedures.

- Training of Intervention Team Members for working at height, rescue from height and confined spaces, utilising a range of rope rescue equipment.

- Ensure all training activities and drills are documented and recorded and identified follow up actions are completed. All details are to be entered into their system.

- Arrange overseas training and internal training with exterior providers.

- Provision of advice to Incident Management Teams and Emergency Responders, on strategy, control and stabilisation of incidents within a gas processing plant, aviation incidents, structural fires and all other incidents requiring a Fire Service response.

- Ensure agreed KPIs are met to meet management and shareholder objectives for annual emergency drills and exercises.

- Fire safety inspections of the complex including all lodger / contractor sites to ensure minimum fire safety standards and make recommendations as required.

- Investigation of fire / emergency incidents, to include written reports, gathering evidence and present findings and recommendations to management.

- Subject matter expert for the procurement of emergency response / firefighting equipment.

- Periodic review of emergency response plans and advise of updates and amendments.

- Compile reports and submit applications for Operational Queries and Management of Change projects, relating to site fire equipment, fixed and mobile, or activities that may impact on fire safety.

- Compilation of task specific Rescue Plans for complex Confined Space and Working at Height activities.

Requirements

Minimum Requirements:
- A minimum of ten years relevant work history that can be documented and proven or a relevant degree qualification.

- A valid HSE qualification with related work experience.

- Experienced Fire Fighter to include industrial risks (preferably oil and gas based).

- Instructional experience across the full range of Fire Fighting activities and special services, assessor qualified.

- Instructional experience to deliver rescue from height / confined space training.

- Aviation firefighting experience (fixed wing to Cat 4)

- French / Arabic language skills is an advantage.
