Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Role Purpose:

Responsible for the design and implementation of office LAN network capabilities that support reliable and secure hosted and collaborative services across Vodafone, mainly focused for corporate LAN, VPN, Management LAN, Data Center and Office IT environments.
Responsible to guarantee consistency and harmonization across the local markets and being accountable for the effective design and evolution of the security network in Europe, promoting and delivering all the possible best practice processes & cost savings initiatives.
Responsible for the overall engineering, design (High and Low Level), network implementation, testing and quality assurance activities in the Local Markets network. Responsible for developing and expanding the team's technical skills and experience. Responsible for IP connectivity design based on customer demand and. Responsible for network optimization.
Assure the Integrity, Confidentiality and Availability of the Office LAN in Europe, supporting effective end-to-end view on security aspects of the mobile and fixed services as well as their configurations and designs.

Key Accountabilities and Decision Ownership:

• Ensures technical analysis and holistic solution design of future capabilities and features, including external dependencies, cross-domain APIs, and technical enablers / stories;
• Translates the overall digital vision and target architecture into corresponding solution designs and change requirements;
• Designs end-to-end solutions and cross domain integration and APIs;
• Defines non-functional, operational, and quality requirements for solutions;
• Defines technical stories to enable business capabilities, fostering re-use of existing components, and accepts technical features following demos;
• Collaborates with team members to plan the release of technical stories;
• Provides guidance to delivery teams to ensure alignment;
• Facilitates solution compliance to security, privacy, and regulatory needs;
• Manages technical debt and technology obsolescence at solution level;
• Advocates adoption of new technologies into solutions.
• Responsible for High Level and Low-Level Design engineering and network design optimization

Requirements

• Thorough experience in project involving Office IT, Data center, service management and ITIL processes.
• Capable of understanding and aligning service performance metrics with the best in class in Europe as well as investigating and reporting reasons for deviations elsewhere in a 'country-agnostic' perspective.

In-depth knowledge in the following areas:
• Detailed Knowledge in passive network infrastructure
• Designed, developed, and executed System Test documents (Test Strategy, Test setup, Test Report), test case documents.
• Expert Knowledge in networks (TCP/IP, Protocols, Structures, Hardware, Security)
• Expert knowledge in Security protocols and measures
• Expert Knowledge in the area of the installation and configuration of network components (Routers, Switches, VPN Gateways, Firewalls, Proxies and others)
• Expert Knowledge in routing protocols, VOIP technology, WLAN technology, DHCP, DNS, AD
• Deep knowledge of IP networks security systems, with experience on the engineering and management of Firewalls, IDS/IPS, and content filtering platforms.
• Expert Knowledge in network management and network analysis

Excellent knowledge on the following network nodes and vendors:
• Cisco Router/Switches (Nexus, iOS, Catalyst)
• FortiNet (FortiGate, FortiAnalyzer, FortiManager)
• Juniper (SRX, EX, MX)
• F5 (LTM, GTM/DNS)
• Cisco Firewalls/VPN Concentrators (ASA)
• Tufin

Must Have Technical / Professional Qualifications:
• An academic degree and at least 5 years work experience in an IT organization supporting large heterogeneous IT infrastructures.
• Good experience in project management
• R&S CCNA or CCNP certifications strongly recommended.
• Result-oriented and enjoy taking initiative as well as responsibility
• Ability to work across multi-functional and cultural boundaries to deliver results/change
• Goal-oriented and spirit of initiative as well as responsibility
• Fluent English oral and written,
• Preferred good Italian oral and written.
