IT Automation Senior Engineer

Job description / Role

What you'll do

Role purpose: Evaluates the design of the automated solutions to streamline IT operations, enhance efficiency, and optimize resource utilization within an organization as well as the testing and acceptance of the Solution from the partner/vendor after implementation.

Key accountabilities and decision ownership:
- Understanding Business Problems, analysing and documenting them and translating/transforming them into technology solutions
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and design automated solutions that address business needs and technical challenges.
- Review Architecture to make sure it's scalable and resilient automation solutions that leverage best practices, standards, and emerging technologies.
- Support in Implementing and configuring automation tools and platforms to orchestrate complex workflows, deployments, and integrations.
- Support in Developing automation scripts, playbooks, and workflows to automate IT tasks, processes, and workflows across infrastructure, applications, and services.
- Make recommendations for tool selection, procurement, and implementation based on technical requirements, cost-effectiveness, and long-term strategic goals.
- Develop and execute test plans, test cases, and test scripts to validate the functionality, reliability, and performance of automation solutions.
- Conduct user acceptance testing (UAT) and gather feedback from stakeholders to iteratively refine and improve automation solutions.
- Evaluate vendor proposals and oversee vendor deliverables to ensure successful implementation and support.

Requirements

Core competencies, knowledge and experience:
- +8 Years Experience as solution architect/implementation engineer
- Computer Science or Engineering Bachelors Graduate
- Strong communication, interpersonal and presentation skills
- Flexibility to adapt to changing project requirements, technologies, and business priorities while maintaining focus on delivering high-quality solutions
- Excellent command of Arabic and English
- Creative thinking and innovation to design novel automation solutions that address complex technical challenges and optimize IT processes.

Must have technical / professional qualifications:
- Knowledge of orchestration and automation platforms to automate complex workflows and deployments
- Familiarity with DevOps principles and practices, including continuous integration, continuous delivery (CI/CD), and infrastructure as code (IaC), to automate software development and deployment pipelines.
- Experience with configuration management tools for automating infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and management.
- Experience with monitoring and logging tools to automate monitoring, alerting, and troubleshooting processes.
- Knowledge of database management systems (DBMS) such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, or MongoDB, including experience automating database provisioning, configuration, and maintenance tasks.
- Understanding of security automation principles and tools, such as Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) systems, security orchestration, automation, and response (SOAR) platforms, to automate security operations and incident response processes.
- Good understanding of AI and M/L (Machine Learning)
