Duties and Responsibilities
- Reviews and comments on the design documentation and oversees installations, testing and commissioning of lifting, handling and hoisting equipment, conveyors, elevators, etc., for compliance with technical requirements and applicable codes and standards.
- Performs design of handling and hoisting equipment, conveyors, elevators, etc., ensuring compliance with Clients' technical requirements, codes and standards
- Reviews and analyzes lifting equipment testing, operational and maintenance documents, rigging plans and other documents pertain to lifting operations on the construction site
- Participates in the monitoring and assessment of lifting operations performed on the construction site
- Assesses components/equipment dimensions to verify correct position accessibility, and recommends, as needed, new block-outs and/or wall/slab holds to allow the correct positioning of components/equipment
- Attends meetings and prepares professional reports

Requirements

Experience and Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree required (Master's degree preferred) in Mechanical Engineering
- Strong technical skills; 7 years of experience in the design of lifting, handling and hoisting equipment, conveyors, and elevators
- Expertise in crane design and mechanical systems.
- Familiar with gear design and analysis, welding principles, metallurgy and manufacturing materials.
- Working knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerance standards
- Proficient in applicable crane design codes and standards
- Knowledgeable of electrical/analogue and digital control systems

Special Job Requirements
- Work location is Cairo, Egypt and the El Dabaa NPP site
- Ability to communicate, influence and persuade
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English are essential, understanding of Russian is a plus
