Senior Network Automation Engineer

Job description / Role

Role Purpose:

To increase the level of automation of the Transport and Transmission Networks in the European markets.

Key Accountabilities and Decision Ownership
- Design and test Use Cases in a Multivendor and Multilayer environment.
- Deliver Use Cases Acceptance and certification process with vendors including vNF and SDN Multivendor eco-system.
- Develop the testing procedures for Area SDN controllers (IP and Optical) integrated on the full SDN stack architecture and with the Lab Environment
- Support analysis, testing and Implementation of use cases on Vodafone Markets and Group Functions managed Networks

Requirements

Core Competencies, Knowledge, and Experience:
- Deep Knowledge of transport IP protocols and data models, like BGP, Segment Routing, and PCEP on multivendor environments (e.g. Nokia, Juniper, Cisco) with at least 3 years of experience in the business OR
- Deep Knowledge of Optical Transmission Technologies (e.g. DWDM, OTN) in multivendor environments (e.g. Nokia, Huawei, Ciena) with at least 3 years of experience in the business.
- Knowledge of Software Defined Networking (SDN).
- Knowledge of optical communication protocols (e.g. G-MPLS) and optical SDN protocols, Rest, Restconf, NetConf and YANG data model
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Experience of presenting and communicating with key external customers.

Must Have Technical / Professional Qualifications:
- 4 or more years of technical experience on IP and Optical networks either in Architecture, Design, Testing, or Operation in both Internet and Enterprise
