Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Role purpose:

We are seeking a big data product owner to help us land this mission. The ideal candidate will have a strategic vision with big ideas that fosters and environment of collaboration and creativity. This role is looking for someone with an entrepreneurial mindset and real-world experience distilling business value and goals into roadmaps and refined product backlogs.

You will have excellent stakeholder management skills which will enable you to execute your accountability for partnering with senior business leaders and customers across Europe to create the roadmap. You will also be comfortable presenting and testing your ideas with senior management throughout the product lifecycle.

Leading the delivery Squads during scrum you will be responsible for the effective communication and translation of the use cases / business requirements to squad members and working with developers to help translate requirements for 3rd Parties. The Product Owner is responsible on behalf of the customer for the acceptance / rejection of sprint outputs and determining when / where to release products.

Ultimately, your products will be yours to define and deliver however you determine will drive the greatest value to the business.

Key accountabilities and decision ownership:
- Collaborate with stakeholders to craft vision and concept development of a product
- Take lead of scrum teams, defining product vision, roadmap, and growth opportunities, communicating with stakeholders throughout the project
- Work with internal and external contacts to analyze needs and align product roadmap to strategic goals
- Work closely with product management/business teams to create and maintain a product backlog according to business value or ROI (weightest shortest job first)
- Create business cases to secure funding for quarterly SAFe product delivery

Core competencies, knowledge and experience
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to articulate complex issues simply and with impact
- Emotionally intelligent with the ability to flex styles across a wide range of stakeholders at various levels within the organisation
- Good Business Analysis skillset ability to take complex concepts / issues and communicate them in a manner which enables decisions to be made and progress to be maintained
- Good understanding of cloud and digital technologies. Vodafone is embracing a build don't buy mantra and cloud will form an important part of this technology stack
- Strong financial/business case experience. We are looking to deliver real value, so calculating financial (and non financial) benefits are a must (including NPV, IRR, ROI)

Requirements

Must have technical / professional qualifications:
- Good experience working in an Agile and transformation environment, with a good understanding and ideally, exposure to a Product Owner role.
- Good understanding of Fixed (and mobile) networks
- Experience with Agile tools such as JIRA and Azure DevOps
- An understanding of Mobile &/or Fixed Line Products and Services
- Ideally a relevant Degree in Engineering, computer science, or equivalent experience.
