Job Purpose
DAR Engineering is seeking a highly skilled Senior Protection Design Engineer to join our dynamic team. As a leading engineering firm specializing in diverse sectors, we are committed to delivering innovative solutions that redefine industry standards. The Senior Protection Design Engineer will play a pivotal role in ensuring the reliability and safety of electrical systems across various projects, contributing to the success of our client engagements for T&D projects.
Role Accountability
Responsibility:
- Good working knowledge on design of control, protection, metering and monitoring systems for LV/ MV/ HV/ EHV substations from concept design to construction drawings. Working knowledge on T&D functions w.r.t construction in coordination with other engineering disciplines.
- Working knowledge on control, protection, metering and monitoring systems pertaining to control & protection schemes, CT/ PT calculations, relay setting calculations etc.
- Strong Knowledge of SAS system, IED relays, IEC61850, and interface with SCADA and communication
- Familiar with relevant codes & standards - International electro-technical commission (IEC), IEEE, BS (British Standards), Regional Standards, Quality and Metrology Organization (SASO), SEC standards etc.
- Strong understanding and working knowledge of design software - DIGSI, PCM600, MICOM AGILE, Envista, SEL, AecoSim, MicroStation, AutoCAD etc. Fair understanding of 3D tools, 3D modelling and DMS.
- Be passionate about protection systems and the power environment. Be a creative leader in design and project management. Have excellent technical skills and be able to mentor staff in their own development and the development of projects.
Delivery:
- Plans timely to deliver as per schedule. Ensures accuracy and timeliness of outputs. Anticipates any possible roadblocks that might come in the way of delivery and fixes them to meet timelines.

- Quality is considered as DAR Engineering's prime competitive advantage as such, engineers are expected to act accordingly.
