Job Responsibilities:
- Technical Oversight: Manage lab equipment and resources, ensuring proper maintenance, calibration, and availability.
- Mentorship: Provide guidance and training to junior technical staff, fostering their development in digital fabrication techniques.
- Workshop Coordination: Plan and organize workshops, seminars, and training sessions on advanced technical topics, enhancing skill levels across the team.
- Collaboration: Work with internal and external partners to develop and execute innovative projects, leveraging collective expertise and resources.
- Technical Support: Assist visitors and members with complex technical challenges, offering expert guidance and solutions.
- Industry Awareness: Stay updated with the latest advancements in digital fabrication technologies, exploring potential collaborations and partnerships to enhance the lab's capabilities.
- Strategic Contribution: Contribute to the development of the lab's strategic goals and objectives, aligning technical initiatives with organizational vision.
- Documentation: Assist in the preparation of technical reports, grant proposals, and other documentation to support funding and project initiatives.
Requirements
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant technical field (e.g., Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, Computer Science, etc.).
- 3-5 years of proven experience in a similar technical role, preferably in a Fab-Lab or makerspace environment.
- In-depth knowledge and expertise in digital fabrication technologies, including 3D printing, laser cutting, CNC machining, electronics, and rapid prototyping.
- Proficiency in design software, such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or Adobe Creative Suite.
- Strong programming skills in languages like Arduino, Python, or C++.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
- Leadership and project management skills, with the ability to oversee multiple projects simultaneously.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with team members, visitors, and stakeholders.
- A passion for mentorship and the ability to guide and develop junior technical staff.
- Preferably a resident of Aswan, Egypt.
