Stat & Tax Specialist - Nigeria- Corporate

Role Summary:
In partnership with the Stat & CIT Leader, oversee the Statutory processes standards and financial compliance for the region, prioritizing results and seeking to drive organizational transformation, process improvement and automatization, for a long term and structured growth. The Job scope is flexible and may be modified based on the Corporate business Stat and Tax organization requirements.

Essential Responsibilities:
For the country(ies) under the role scope, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following activities:
- Prepare stat financials, gap to stat adjustments, stat to tax adjustments and in-scope corporate income tax returns as agreed with country tax leaders.
- Review, validate and establish the procedures to ensure proper application of Local GAAP regulations in the conversion of US GAAP accounting information.
- Identify opportunities to improve the statutory and CIT process through simplification, standardization and automation initiative.
- Manage the relationship with the external statutory auditors to drive efficient & effective audit processes (audit planning, debrief meeting, audit fees.
- Own and manage the metrics for measuring the efficiency of the stat & tax filings- including speed, quality and cost.
- In partnership with the Country Tax Leader, ensure efficient and timely tax payments for Legal Entities in scope based on country requirements.
- Support the Country and Regional Tax Leaders by efficient and timely compilation of information for tax audit requests to drive a positive assessment.
- Facilitate early CIT self-assessment through audit ready BLP readiness.
- Follow a risk based approach for entities in scope of self assessment.
- Own and manage implementations of global S2T initiatives for your country(ies)/ region including but not limited to: Strategic ERP implementations, Stat @ Source, HFM, OneSource, STIR, ATS etc.
- Assure Statutory and Tax process controllership

Requirements

Qualifications/Requirements:
- Strong experience & demonstrated experience in project management.
- Strong controllership analytical skills - able to link financial results to operational performance drives.
- Experience leading cross-functional projects, process improvement within operations / finance function, GE ops system / routines.
- Ability to prepare and deliver effective presentations.
- Customer Orientation - Ability to build good partnership with all stakeholders in the processes.
- Team Leadership.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
- Support a positive environment despite constant changes.
- Strategic, visionary and inclusive skills - Good ability to stay updated with market trends and external changes to incorporate knowledge in our internal processes.

- Must be willing to travel a minimum of 30% of the time.
