Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

- Oversees the final approval of tax returns covering a range of direct and indirect taxes, such as corporate income tax, value-added tax (VAT), withholding tax (WHT), and similar levies across all jurisdictions within the Group's scope. Monitors tax return deadlines diligently, ensuring the timely and accurate submission of all tax-related documents by the ABS Tax Team.
- Stays abreast of amendments in tax regulations and legislation, and disseminates this information among the tax team members. Additionally, assists in the smooth adaptation to regulatory shifts by closely coordinating with technical teams that might be affected.
- Provides assistance in addressing various tax-related inquiries relevant to the Group, including tax audits or filings at the Group level, and ensures the timely dissemination of updates in the taxation domain.
- Recognizes tax compliance risks across the group then devises and implements effective controls to mitigate these risks.
- Leads the implementation of tax technology and processes.
- Conducts regular instructional sessions, offering comprehensive knowledge on diverse tax-related topics to various departments within ABS. This ensures that personnel are well-informed about prevailing tax regulations and compliance requirements.
- Delivers and sustains a high level of customer service and constructive relationships with stakeholders to promote business enhancement and goal achievement. Collaborates closely with internal and external auditors during financial and operational audits.
- Recruits, trains, inspires, and assesses the performance of the team to ensure that the department possesses the necessary skill set. It is imperative that the staff are optimally motivated and empowered to maximize their potential and contributions to the company.

Requirements

Qualifications

- Language Proficiency: Fluency in English and Arabic. French is a plus.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS Office.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance. Master's degree or certification is a plus.

General Experience:

- Seven to nine years of experience in tax compliance across various jurisdictions. Big Four/large groups experience is a plus.
- Managerial Experience: Four years of experience in a managerial role.
