Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Responsibilities
- Knowledge of and compliance with the Animal Welfare Act and all procedures and protocols in the Nestlé Purina R&D Petcare Manual
- Adherence to Nestlé Quality Management Systems (QMS) and Good Laboratory Practices (GLP)
- Perform all necessary cleaning and sanitation duties
- Assist with carrying out the behavior programs developed by the Behavior Team
- Lead the puppy/kitten programs
- Coordinates changes to pet behavior training programs
- Daily feeding of the pets not on tests
- Perform grooming, as necessary
- Obtain animal body weights/body condition scoring, as required
- Accurate and reliable data entry, as needed.
- Provide socialization programs for pets
- Assist with care for and monitor growth of puppies and kittens
- Conduct training and mentoring of the PetCare Specialists
- Assist with breeding of pets
- Report to the veterinary staff sick pets or unusual behavior observed in the cats or dogs
- Report to the supervisor any broken or damaged equipment, item or damage to the physical area.
- Perform minor troubleshooting of facility equipment as needed
- Maintain a safe, clean and sanitary work environment and practice safety in the work place

- Supports the Team Leader for with ensuring compliance with husbandry SOPs
- Supports the development of additional enrichment programs
- Actively participate in training and skill development as needed
- Additional duties as assigned

Requirements

Job Qualifications (Education, Experience, and Knowledge)
- High School Diploma (or GED)
- Minimum 1 year of animal experience
- Proficiency in the PetCare Specialist role
- Ability to work well independently and in a team
- Good interpersonal, communication, organization, and math skills
- Computer literacy
