Job Summary

The Design Engineer participates in design activities for non-complex storm water & drainage design projects. He closely works with project teams on the development of concept designs, schematic designs, detailed designs and tender documents which accommodate the requirements of the client, local authorities, international standards and codes of practice and the requirements of other disciplines. He shall stay abreast of the latest trends and developments in the storm water & drainage design field and represent the firm and share his expertise and knowledge with other team members.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, preferably Civil or Environmental Engineering
- Chartered Professional Engineering certification or equivalent is preferred
- Master's degree in Environmental Engineering is preferable

Skills
- Knowledge of the storm water & drainage industry in the Middle East
- Understanding of international engineering standards and codes
- Good communication and presentation skills
- Good interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in spoken and written English; Arabic is an advantage

Experience Required to Execute this Role

Overall Experience
- 4 to 6 years of industry experience in water and environment/ storm water & drainage engineering design

Specific Experience
- 4 to 6 years of experience in engineering design in a top tier regional / multinational engineering consultancy firm
- Exposure to global best practices and trends in the Engineering and Planning Industry, in particular related to storm water & drainage
- Responsible for conducting hydraulic analysis by using techniques with modeling/design tools, such as EPA-SWMM, SewerGems, Stormcad and ARCGIS is preferred.
- Handle the tasks of Managing Storm Water infrastructure design and construction; ensures all work is approved for compliance with all applicable codes, ordinances, and regulations
- Responsible for assisting project managers in scoping projects and in leading project development teams
- Review of design which performed by the junior staff
- Design Engineer will be responsible for the surface water drainage design on varieties of major and minor projects.
- Responsible for supporting the Senior Engineers in resolving technical issues as they occur
