The role
Senior Health and Safety Manager - Mumbai
Your responsibilities will include:
• Leading and directing the development and implementation of H&S policies, strategies, programs and standards.
• Keeping staff fully informed of the H&S program and applicable legislative and assurance requirements.
• Ensuring adequate procedures are implemented to evaluate the adequacy of H&S compliance and performance across the programme.
• Directly managing contractor and consultants in all aspects of HSE.
• Identifying and controlling significant loss producing exposures, and provides summary strategic reports and recommendations to the leadership team.
• Playing a visible role in H&S leadership and direction to the project.
• Influencing business decisions.
• Providing guidance and recommendation to all business units.
• Liaising and interacting with the client and key stakeholders.
• Keeping fully informed of all existing and proposed changes in applicable regulations and legislation.
It is essential that you can demonstrate a clear, systematic approach to solving complex technical and aesthetic issues and are able to communicate solutions in an effective, high level manner.
Requirements
Your experience, knowledge and skills need to include:
• With 18-20 years’ experience in residential, commercial and mixed-use is required.
• Significant experience as senior manager for health and safety in a construction environment is essential.
• Previous experience in creating innovative approaches to health and safety management.
• Local experience and language skills are essential.
• Ability to engage and communicate effectively at all levels in an appropriate manner.
• Ability to lead and motivate individuals.
• Strong organisation, prioritisation and planning skills.
• Good record management skills.
• Proficiency in use of MS Office.
Qualifications
• A degree qualification is essential for client approval.
• Professional memberships are an advantage.
• A health and safety qualification i.e. NEBOSH/IOSH is required.
