Position Summary: The American University of Iraq, Baghdad, seeks an experienced and visionary leader to serve as its Director of Institutional Effectiveness. This role is pivotal in driving the strategic initiatives and effectiveness efforts that underpin the university's commitment to academic excellence and operational efficiency. The director will play a crucial role in shaping the institution's future.

This position reports to the Vice President of Academic Affairs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Strategic Planning and Implementation: Partner with the President’s Cabinet members in the development and execution of strategic plans and initiatives that align with the university's mission and vision. Ensure these strategies are effectively communicated and adopted across all departments and campus stakeholders.
• Institutional Research: Oversee the collection, analysis, and reporting of data related to university operations, including student enrollment, faculty performance, and academic program effectiveness. Use this data to inform decision-making and policy development.
• Quality Assurance and Accreditation: Ensure that the university maintains high standards of academic and operational quality. Provide major support for institutional and programmatic accreditation processes and continuous improvement efforts to meet and exceed regional and international standards.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with faculty, staff, students, and external partners to foster a collaborative environment that supports the university's goals.
• Resource Management: Support the allocation and utilization of resources to support strategic objectives.
• Reporting and Compliance: Ensure that all institutional research and reporting activities comply with legal and ethical standards. Provide regular updates to key stakeholders on the progress of strategic initiatives.

Requirements

Qualifications

• An advanced degree in education, business administration, or a relevant field and a strong understanding of US-style education in a Middle East setting.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in a leadership role within a higher education institution, with a strong understanding of academic operations, accreditation, quality assurance and strategic planning.
• Demonstrated experience in institutional research, data analysis, descriptive statistics, and reporting.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and a results-oriented mindset.
• Commitment to upholding the highest standards of integrity and professionalism.

About the Company

AUIB is an American-style, nonprofit university located next to the Baghdad International Airport in Baghdad. This large-scale, multi-million dollar project is funded by Iraqi and U.S. donors, both public and private. The university opens for students on Jan. 17, 2021, with the College of Arts & Sciences, College of International Studies, and the College of Business. Eventually, there will be 10 colleges at the university, including a College of Medicine.
