Financial Accountant (Basra, Iraq)

Charterhouse is working with an oil and gas support services company based in Basra. Our client is looking to hire a Financial Accountant to oversee and manage their financial accounting and business support reporting team.

You will oversee all transactional accounting and statutory reporting operations whilst managing areas of account reconciliation and financial statement closures on a monthly basis. You will also ensure adherence to all accounting policies for both, group compliance and external audit as well as regulatory procedures.

In addition, you will provide support to the Finance Manager in the production and review of consolidated financial statements across business units. You will also assist in attached commentaries for MIS purposes.

Requirements

The successful candidate should be a professionally qualified Chartered Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CPA or CMA) with a proven track record in financial accounting.

You should have a combined experience of at least 5 years with a major part of experience in a reporting based finance function. Exposure to audit functions from within a blue-chip business coupled with experience of working within the GCC markets is essential. Due to the nature of this business, it is crucial you have strong communication skills ensuring excellent flows, in support of senior management and their international reporting lines.
