Employment: Full Time

Title:
Instrument Coach and Examiner

Candidate shall report to Deputy Instrument, Control & Electrical (ICE) Reliability & Maintenance Manager and will be an integral member of a multi-discipline Maintenance Department.

Candidate's responsibilities shall include:
- Provide leadership and guidance to I&C personnel during all I&C activities - maintenance, construction, commissioning & operation.
- Support ROO Academy Safety and Instrument Trainer in conducting I&C training courses, including course delivery as required.
- Input to and develop training courseware for technical staff including but not limited to: Instrument isolation, CompEx,, Functional Safety, Operation & Maintenance of Control Valves, Actuated On/Off Valves, SSVs (Surface Safey Valves), Level, Pressure, Temperature and Analyser Instrumentation, Fire & Gas Systems and Fire & Gas Detectors, DCS, SIS, PLCs.
- Provide coaching and mentoring to technical staff during the execution of field activities
- Provide instrument isolator competency including delivery of remedial training, and authorisation assessments
- As part of a team, ensure I&C authorisation registers are complete and up to date.
- Liaise with Deputy Instrument, Control & Electrical Maintenance Manager and Operations Instrument Technical Authority for instrument safety concerns/queries/issues.
- Ensure instrument tools, equipment and PPE is in good clean condition and calibrated for use as part of instrument isolator authorisation assessments.

Requirements

Skills and Experience:
- I&C engineer having completed a degree in I&C engineering or I&C technician having completed I&C apprenticeship to at least HNC / HND, or NVQ Level 5.
- Minimum 10 years' Oil & Gas experience in operational instrument engineering.
- Excellent command of spoken and written English and Arabic.
- Brownfield operational support role experience with an oil and gas operator.
- Excellent practical knowledge of Permit to Work (PTW), Isolation Procedures, Risk Assessment and Man Management
- Mandatory CompEx Hazardous Areas IEC60079-14 & 17 training must be completed and a valid certificate issued.
- Courses achieved: Functional Safety Certification in Safety Instrumented Systems
- Candidate to demonstrate familiarity with all relevant industry codes, standards and practices (IEC)
- Candidate to demonstrate good presentation and effective interdisciplinary communication skills developed in multi-national projects with diverse nationalities and cultures
