Job description / Role

Employment: Contract

Job Objective is:
• Provide chemical deployment support to the field operations to manage asset operation to ensure the
set production target are met and safeguard technical integrity.
• Evaluate Corrosion and Erosion risks and develop & implement effective corrosion management
systems and programs for corrosion, scale, bacteria, pour point and emulsion problems for the entire
company assets.
• Keep corrosion & erosion mitigation, monitoring and management program updated in line with the
changing production profile and high level business strategy.
• Leads design, installation, commissioning and operation of chemical injection systems
• Provides inputs to Projects for corrosion control at design stage of new projects to ensure life cycle
integrity keeping in view chemical injection requirements.
• Ensures that all chemical injection monitoring, inspection and maintenance programs for are properly
uploaded in SAP and maintained according to acceptable standards.
• Identifies damage mechanisms and provide corrosion inputs to integrity Engineer (Static) in
investigation of loss of primary containment (LOPC) cases.
• Supervises operation of Field Corrosion Lab for monitoring of water quality, iron count, inhibitor
residuals etc. and for scale, coupon, sludge and miscellaneous analyses.
• Provides technical support in selection of corrosion protection coatings and linings for use in
aggressive environment.
• Forecasts annual budget for chemical treatment and corrosion monitoring costs (OPEX). Use
innovation and optimization efforts to keep chemical Opex low.
• Support Integrity and operational key performance indicators (KPls) in order to drive future continuous
improvement
• Works in close coordination with teams such as operations, drilling, Surface facility etc
• Coordinates with Field staff for planning and scheduling of field activities related with corrosion and
chemical deployments
• Close liaison with contractors providing chemicals in Block 9.
• To ensure that sufficient inventory is managed, and all chemicals are stocked in enough quantity for
chemical deployment in B9.
• To ensure Safe inventory management of all chemicals being deployed.
• To ensure Provision of Awareness / Training to all operation personnel being responsible to carry out
the job.
• To ensure that required pipelines are included in chemical deployment program according to the risk
assessment and considering the potential threats.
• To ensure that chemical dosage is as per chemical supplier guidelines
• Shall keep an eye on daily reports for dosing related to prevention of corrosion and scale. In case of
abnormality, he should raise the concern for taking immediate action to diagnose the root cause of
the problem.
• To closely coordinate with Lab for oil, gas and PW sampling as per organizational Procedure.
• Improvement in chemical dosage rates by keeping an eye on no scaling, corrosion issues on pipelines

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering
• Considerable experience in the Chemical Engineering discipline of which a significant portion has been
spent in corrosion monitoring and chemical management and deployments

Minimum Experience:
• At least 5 years of experience in Oil/Petrochemical Plants with similar role.
• Experience in oil and gas sector (preferable exploration).
