Mechanical Engineer

Job description / Role

We are looking for a skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team in Ireland. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining mechanical systems to the highest standards of quality, safety, and performance.

Responsibilities:
- Designing and implementing cost-effective equipment modifications to help improve safety and reliability
- Developing project specifications and obtaining quotes from suppliers
- Carrying out research to identify the most suitable materials and processes for a particular design
- Using computer-aided design (CAD) and computer-assisted engineering (CAE) software to create prototypes and test designs
- Assessing project requirements and ensuring that they are met within budget and time constraints
- Supervising and inspecting the installation and commissioning of mechanical systems
- Investigating and resolving any mechanical failures or operational issues
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to integrate mechanical systems with other aspects of the overall project

Requirements

- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- Proven experience in mechanical design and development, preferably in a related industry
- Strong proficiency in CAD and CAE software
- Familiarity with relevant industry standards and regulations
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities
- Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively
- Adaptability and willingness to learn new technologies and methodologies
