Senior Electrical Estimator

Job description / Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Electrical Estimator to join our team in Ireland. The successful candidate will be responsible for accurately estimating the costs of electrical projects and providing expertise in electrical systems and components. This role requires a strong understanding of electrical engineering principles and the ability to effectively communicate with clients and project teams.

Responsibilities:
- Analyze project drawings, specifications, and other documents to prepare accurate electrical cost estimates
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to understand project requirements and provide electrical expertise
- Identify and quantify cost factors such as materials, labor, and equipment required for electrical installations
- Prepare and submit detailed and competitive bids for electrical projects
- Review and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotes to ensure competitiveness and accuracy
- Participate in project meetings and discussions to provide input on electrical cost and design considerations
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of electrical codes, regulations, and industry best practices
- Provide support and guidance to junior estimators and contribute to their professional development

Requirements

- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
- Proven experience as an electrical estimator in the construction industry, with a focus on commercial and industrial projects
- In-depth knowledge of electrical systems, components, and construction methods
- Proficiency in using electrical estimating software and Microsoft Office applications
- Strong analytical and mathematical skills with attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to effectively interact with clients, project teams, and subcontractors
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Professional certification or licensure as an electrical estimator or related field is a plus
