Senior Mechanical Estimator

Job description / Role

We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Estimator to join our construction team in Ireland. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in estimating mechanical construction projects and will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and competitiveness of our project bids.

Responsibilities:
- Analyze project drawings, specifications, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates for mechanical construction projects.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to gather necessary information for accurate estimates.
- Evaluate material and equipment costs, labor rates, and productivity factors to determine project costs.
- Prepare and present cost estimates, proposals, and bid packages to clients, highlighting the value and competitive pricing of our services.
- Participate in negotiations with clients and subcontractors to secure favorable contracts and pricing agreements.
- Stay updated on industry trends, market conditions, and pricing to ensure our estimates are competitive and aligned with market standards.

Requirements

- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
- Proven experience as a Mechanical Estimator in the construction industry, with a strong focus on mechanical systems and HVAC projects.
- In-depth knowledge of mechanical construction methods, materials, and equipment, as well as understanding of building codes and regulations.
- Proficiency in estimating software and tools, such as Bluebeam, On-Screen Takeoff, and Excel.
- Excellent analytical and mathematical skills, with the ability to interpret complex technical documents and perform accurate calculations.
- Strong communication and negotiation abilities, with the confidence to present and defend estimates to clients and stakeholders.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy.
- Professional certifications, such as Certified Professional Estimator (CPE) or similar, would be a plus.
