TIG Welder

Job description / Role

We are seeking a skilled TIG Welder to join our team in Ireland. The ideal candidate will have experience in Tungsten Inert Gas (TIG) welding and a strong understanding of metal fabrication processes. The TIG Welder will be responsible for producing high-quality welds and ensuring the structural integrity of the finished products.

Responsibilities:
- Perform TIG welding on a variety of metals and alloys, including stainless steel, aluminum, and titanium
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and welding symbols to determine the specific welding requirements
- Set up welding equipment, including selecting the appropriate welding tools, adjusting voltage and current settings, and preparing the workpieces for welding
- Inspect welds to ensure they meet quality and safety standards, and make any necessary adjustments to the welding process
- Collaborate with the engineering and production teams to identify welding requirements and provide input on design and manufacturing processes
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, and adhere to all safety regulations and procedures
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by providing feedback on welding processes and suggesting potential enhancements

Requirements

- Proven experience as a TIG Welder or similar role, with a strong portfolio of high-quality welds
- Certification in TIG welding techniques or the equivalent combination of education and experience
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, and welding symbols
- Ability to operate and maintain TIG welding equipment, including welding machines, gas cylinders, and related tools
- Strong attention to detail and quality, with the ability to identify and address welding defects and imperfections
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity, with the ability to work with precision and accuracy
- Solid understanding of metal properties and fabrication processes, with the ability to select the appropriate welding techniques and materials for each project
- Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and contribute to a positive work environment
