Buyer - Homewares

Job description / Role

Quest Search & Selection based in Dubai are recruiting for a well-established retailer with their head office based in Kuwait. The role of Homeware Buyer is to ensure the right products are developed to build a commercial range for this category. The Homeware Buyer will have sole responsibility for this category and making key decisions throughout the buying process. You will report directly into a Head of Buying.

Core responsibilities:
• Evaluate supplier options according to prices, quality, etc. and determine the best choices;
• Determine market trends, customer demands, and competitor strategies to find more profitable opportunities;
• Manage the overall store restock process;
• Maintaining relationships with existing suppliers while seeking new ones;
• Liaise with the Logistics Department to ensure the timely delivery of products and compliance with the contracts of purchase;
• Create reports on sales, budgets and customer satisfaction and adjust your strategies accordingly

Requirements

• 3+ years’ experience as a buyer or relevant role;
• Experience in buying the home category
• High level of commercial awareness, excellent numerical and analytical skills;
• Effective communication and negotiation skills;
• Exceptional vendor and supplier management;
• Bachelor’s degree holder
