Job description / Role
Develop lesson plans and themes in line with American or British curriculum objectives specific for teaching English Subjects at Middle-Secondary grade levels. Experience with AS or AP an asset. Instruct through lectures, discussions, and demonstrations. Use computers, audiovisual aids, and other equipment and materials to supplement presentations. Adapt teaching methods and instructional materials to meet the varying needs and interests of students. Facilitate learning by establishing a relationship with students and organizing learning resources and the classroom environment.
Meeting with parents or guardians, teachers, counselors and administrators to resolve any possible behavioural or academic problems. Attend professional development workshops and educational conferences in order to maintain and improve professional competence. Establish and enforce rules for class management and student behaviour. Prepare, administer, and grade tests and assignments to evaluate student progress.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor Degree in English from a recognized University in the US, UK, IR, CA, AU, NZ
- TEACHING LICENSE FROM ONE OF THE FOLLOWING COUNTRIES: UK, IR, US, CA, AU, NZ (Due to Visa Restrictions)
- Must have excellent English communication skills and could pass an IELTS exam at level 7
- Must have excellent classroom management skills and able to deal effectively with student behaviour issues
Requirements:
Required Experience:
- Minimum 3 years’ experience teaching English at Middle-Secondary grade levels
- Culturally sensitive, dependable, flexible and able to work in a continuously changing environment
Monthly Salary Range:
- TAX FREE Monthly salary from KD 725 - 1200 depending on qualifications and experience
Housing:
- Furnished 1 - 2 bedroom flat depending on family size OR KD 125 monthly Housing Allowance
- Utilities paid for by school in provided accommodation.
Health Insurance Coverage:
- Health Insurance provided for employee only
Annual Air Tickets:
- Annual Return Economy Class Air Fare for employee only (Baggage allowance of KWD (50) granted upon first time arrival and permanent departure from Kuwait (End of Service)
Leave:
- Annual Leave, generally from the 3rd week of June till end of August plus any National Holidays during the year as per Labour law
Dependant School Fees:
- 50% discount on tuition for 2 dependents attending same school as employee
Visa & Medical Check Fees:
- Resident Visa Fees will be paid for employee only, once in Kuwait . Employee is responsible for dependent fees
End Of Service Benefit:
- For each full year of service, school will pay 1 month Basic Salary per year worked according to Labour Law of the country
Contract Period:
- 1 year contract - renewable
Location:
- Kuwait City
Paperwork Requirements:
- Notarized and Attested academic degrees, teaching certificates, transcripts, marriage and dependent birth certificates. You will be advised of school requirements
Start Date:
- August 2024
