HSE Officer/Supervisor

Job description / Role

• Monitor compliance with established site safety rules and make sure these are conspicuously posted.
• Undertakes as a minimum weekly safety inspection and prepares a report for submittal and review with the Site Manager.
• Conduct a daily tour of the working areas and log details of the observations on the Daily Observation Register. Unsafe conditions and unsafe acts are to be reported immediately. Raise Near Miss / Incident Reports when highlighted.
• Assist HSE Manager in undertaking risk assessments and identifying safe systems of work to be recorded in safe work method statements.
• Develop and deliver internal training courses on health and safety topics to the site team.
• Undertake a weekly Toolbox Talk with site assigned personnel and ensure that records are maintained of the talks
• Develop and deliver the Site Safety Orientation Training for all workers including Subcontractors and visitors prior to starting work or visiting the site.
• Complete the incident notification and investigations and issue the report in same day to HSE Manager .
• Review subcontractor Health & Safety plans.
• Audit the registers and permit systems maintained for lifting equipment, lifting accessories, excavations, confined spaces, hot works, Lock-out/Tag-out, etc.
• Provide weekly input of H&S statistics and data to HSE Manager.
• Exercise professional conducts at all times.
• Attend Subcontractor held Toolbox Talk sessions.

Requirements

• NEBOSH IGC (or diploma) and IRCA Lead auditor is preferred
• 5+ years’ GCC experience in the Health & Safety Management.
• 3+ years similar role (Safety Officer/Engineer)
• Prior experience in road construction & infrastructure works
• Preferably working knowledge of the local H&S regulations (Kuwait)
• Proficiency in written and spoken English
