Math Teacher

Job description / Role

Develop lesson plans and themes in line with curriculum objectives specific for teaching Math subjects at Middle to Secondary grade levels. Instruct through lectures, discussions, and demonstrations. Use computers, audiovisual aids, and other equipment and materials to supplement presentations. Adapt teaching methods and instructional materials to meet the varying needs and interests of students. Facilitate learning by establishing a relationship with students and organizing learning resources and the classroom environment.

Meeting with parents or guardians, teachers, counselors and administrators to resolve any possible behavioural or academic problems. Attend professional development workshops and educational conferences in order to maintain and improve professional competence. Establish and enforce rules for class management and student behaviour. Prepare, administer, and grade tests and assignments to evaluate student progress.

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor Degree in Math from a recognized University in the UK, US, CA, AU, NZ
- TEACHING LICENSE FROM ONE OF THE FOLLOWING COUNTRIES: UK, US, CA, AU, NZ
- Must have excellent English Communications Skills
- Must have excellent classroom management skills and able to deal effectively with student behaviour issues

Required Experience:
- Minimum 3 years teaching experience at appropriate grade levels

Experience teaching at AP and AS levels an Asset
- Culturally sensitive, dependable, flexible and able to work in a continuously changing environment

Monthly Salary Range:
- Competitive TAX FREE monthly salary KD 725 to 1175 depending on qualifications and years of teaching experience

Housing:
- Furnished 1 - 2 bedroom flat depending on family size
- Utilities paid for by school in the provided accommodation

Health Insurance Coverage:
- Provided for employee only

Annual Air Tickets:
- Return Annual Air fare for employee only

Leave:
- Annual Leave, generally from the 3 rd week of June till end of August plus all National and Religious Holidays during the year

Dependent School Fees:
- 50% discount for up to 2 Dependent Children (depending on which school) provided they are attending same school as employee

Visa & Medical Check Fees:
- Resident Visa and Medical Check Fees covered for employee only when done in Kuwait. Employee must pay for dependents

End Of Service Benefit:
- One month of Basic Salary paid for each full year worked paid at End of Service as per Labour law of country

Contract Period:
- 1 year contract - renewable yearly

Location:
- Kuwait City

Paperwork Requirements:
- Notarized and Attested academic degrees, teaching certificates, transcripts, marriage and dependent birth certificates. You will be advised of school requirements.

Start Date:
- August 2024
