Physics Teacher

Job description / Role

A schooling group in Kuwait that teaches the British Curriculum is seeking a qualified Physics Teacher to join the team in August 2024 for the next academic year.

The school has 3 British schools in Kuwait teaching students from global backgrounds, teachers are mainly from the UK and Ireland, and enjoy a comfortable lifestyle in a warmer climate with work / life balance. Kuwait is a great hub for teachers who enjoy traveling during the holidays with great connections to Far East Asia, Europe and Africa.

This schooling group is currently a qualified Physics Teacher for next academic year, you will start in Mid-August to give you time to get settled in the country and familiar with your school, class, and peers. The school will organize your Visa, new bank account and residency permit on arrival, you will also receive fully furnished accommodation, in a great location with all your amenities within reach.

The Package:

• Basic tax free salary of between 700KD - 1000 KD per month
• End of service indemnity bonus (2 weeks' salary per year)
• Return airfare annually
• Fully furnished apartment in a central location, with local amenities
• Free transport to and from the school during school days
• Please Note - this school does NOT offer free schooling for dependent children.

Living in Kuwait:

Kuwait is a very friendly place and there are many clubs and societies to cater for most interests. A good number of Kuwaitis have been educated at American, British, Irish and overseas colleges, they are very hospitable to foreigners and often form friendships with them. Shopping malls abound as retail therapy is an essential part of daily life and for those looking for a little more action, there is the Arabian Gulf which stretches the length of the country with water sports, such as diving, boating, fishing and of course the jet skis! There are several islands to explore and some expats enjoy camping on the beaches.

Those with teaching qualifications are in demand, there are 8,000 British expats in Kuwait, half being teachers, the country has a rich culture and you need to be mindful of Muslim customs. It’s a very safe city to live and with the package on offer, you will enjoy a comfortable lifestyle and be able to experience new things that you would be able to do at home.

Salary:
KWD 700 to 1,000 per month inclusive of fixed allowances.

Requirements

• You must have a teaching qualification specialising in Physics, or a Degree in Physics (or similar subjects) with a PGCE.
• Ideally have 2 years post qualifying experience, although its not essential
• Be professional, enthusiastic and able to work with students, staff and the wider community who are from across the globe.
• Be friendly, passionate about teaching with a can do attitude
