Primary objective
The primary objective of this role is to provide QS support, plan and administer sub-contractor and materials costs for assigned projects and report on contract progress costs.

The successful incumbent will also be responsible for generating equipment and material schedules for contracts and accurate costing and trending along with providing support to our contract administration area and validation activities.

Specific Accountabilities
Scope
- Understand the Design Concept and Baseline Scope as set out in the FEED phase and in the Basis of Design (BoD) for the assigned contract.
- Highlight potential or otherwise, scope changes/deviations with the contract as detailed design engineering matures.

Project control
- Provide monitoring/reporting support on the assigned contract in terms of cost, schedule and progress.
- Be proactive in finding ways to improve cost to the benefit of the contract budget.
- Generate accurate costs and installed rates data for the package manager and project controls group.
- Validate cost/schedule control information from the contract for the package manager and project controls group.
- Generate equipment and material schedules for the contracts, logistic and material control groups.
- Prepare Bills of Quantities and specifications for projects.
- Administer the quantity tracking database.
- Undertake cost planning, cost analysis, site measurements for progress payments and variations which occur on site.

Contracts and Procurement
- Provide assistance in ensuring that all correspondence, documentation, reporting and the like for the contract is processed in accordance with project correspondence and document control procedures.
- Generate cost information as requested.
- Review and validate submitted variations, invoices and schedule's of installed qualities and equipment against the contract, scope and drawings.
- Provide assistance in monitoring equipment progress with the logistic and procurement groups.
- Report any potential contract, cost and schedule issues.

Construction
- Onsite: Reports directly to the Construction Manager or as assigned. Provides QS and contract admin support to the assigned contract with support from the site based supervisors and field engineers who are handling the day to day management of the (Site Based) contractor.
- Provide assistance in ensuring all documentation associated with the contract has been issued to the Construction team and contractor/vendor.
- Provide assistance in ensuring administration information between the contract vendor/contractors and the construction team is being implemented, maintained and updated during the course of the project.
- Review and validate submitted variations, invoices and schedule's of installed qualities and equipment against the contract, scope and drawings.
- Report any potential contract, construction, cost and schedule issues.

Requirements

Quality
- Assist quality team members in conducting quality audits as required for the benefit of progress and payments.

Reporting
- Provide weekly update's to the Package Manager / Construction Manager.

Essential Skills/Experience
- BA/BS degree or Diploma in Science or Arts
- Must have experience in Quantity Surveying, Quantity Measurement, Remeasurable, Bill of materials type contract

Matching Indicators
- Must have minimum experience in oil & gas / petrochemical industry
- Must have minimum experience in Quantity Surveying
