Employment: Full Time

Role Profile

Work in conjunction with the relevant controllers/Finance Managers and Management Accountants to drive the management accounting and financial planning process for the business. Ensure that International accounting standards are followed, accounting processes are consistent and robust and business targets set are realistic, stretched and reflect actual business potentials.

The below Key Performance Areas include but are not limited to:

Assess financial results accurately for monthly closing and use information to interpret and build models for future performance, highlighting issues with interventions to resolve on a timely basis

- Ensure suppliers/customers/banks accounts are reconciled and reviewed
- Initiate discussion with stake holders on pending/unresolved items
- Monitors banking and cash flow on a monthly basis, in order to ensure sufficient cash flow for the company's business requirements.
- Submits monthly, quarterly and annual reports to Group within approved deadline dates.
- Monitors and controls customer / supplier credit, receivables, collection to ensure minimum past due risk.
- Researching and reporting on factors influencing business performance and analyze
- monthly financials and prepares various Management Reports as and when required
- Initiate discussion with stake holders on pending/unresolved items

Provide financial and strategic support by undertaking the relevant required activities including policy, compliance and remedial activities for:

- Contribute to the decision making process by undertaking detailed decision support analysis which includes focused analysis on the relevant financial data, providing sound financial advice to support critical decisions
- Build qualified Working Capital Management analysis and forecasted financial performance data, ensuring the relevant controls are in place.
- Facilitates annual and long term business planning process
- Provides key inputs and supports in the planning process
- Develop financial management mechanisms that minimize financial risk involved in the business.
- Providing insightful monthly analysis on financial performance for Senior Management which focus on product level performance, including margin and volume analysis.
- Adheres to Company and Group financial policies to ensure uniform and consistent application of all financial transactions.
- Stock Management
- Support the business with Credit Control activities including policies, compliance and remedial measures activities, ensuring financial standards are reflected
- Tax and other statutory requirements, including VAT, WHT, Corporate Tax and Thin Capital are maintained and compliant.
- Work in partnership with the Statutory Auditors to ensure all relevant audit requirements, including annual schedules, queries are addressed and completed in a timely manner
- Directs internal audits involving review of accounting and administrative controls and generates various system reports for audit calculations and ensures accuracy.
- Coordinates with the External Audit for the year-end closing by ensuring the requested information is based on Audit Standards set by the company.
- Conducts annual inventory audit of the company assets by using the available resources.
- Build and support Host Brand relationships, ensuring the relevant financial activities are undertaken and reported in a timely manner
- Work with country and regional management to set and embed financial and strategic planning standards and frameworks.
- Set up processes to ensure sums due to host brands out of contractual obligations are recorded and processed on a timely and accurate manner
- Claim settlements
- Review current processes and systems on an ongoing basis, ensuring enhancements are recommended, analyzed and created, if appropriate and integrated in the business
- Maintains and improves financial systems and workflow by ensuring that the businesses processes are in line with best practice and accounting standards.
- Provides training and presents new techniques to improve internal processes, including meetings, planning and facilitation.
- Setting up processes related to rent obligations and capex payments
- Capturing variances vs ROCI
- Support Joint Venture Activities including aligning processes, reporting and control
- Drive Project activity as per corporate requirements, including new lines of business
- Provide business support to other functions including Support functions to assist in decision making
- Supervising Financial work of regions including training of staff, set up of systems and processes and validating monthly close
- Support preparation of key management reports including Quarterly board pack

Requirements

Knowledge:

- Retail Business
- Graduate/Post Graduate in Finance & Accounts
- Professional qualifications
- ERP system

Experience:

- 8-10 years in management accounting or financial role preferably within retail or similar business
- Skills:
- Commercial/Analytical skills
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate complex financial matters to senior management.
