Senior Facade Engineer

Job description / Role

An exciting opportunity exists within a leading international multidisciplinary consultancy in Beirut for a Senior Facade Engineer. Working closely with the Facade Engineering Head you will be responsible for all design, documentation, administration and compliance for multiple projects simultaneously.

Duties & Responsibilities
• Responsible for all technical matters, resources required, profitability/costs and cash flow performance on projects that are managed by you
• Provide facade design and build-ability consultation, including material knowledge and installation techniques
• Provide design sketches and reports as required for schematic, design development and construction phases of projects using governing codes, standards and engineering formulas
• Undertake liaison and coordination with other designers including architects, and other engineers to agree on safe designs and their fit with the aesthetic and concept of the construction
• Prepare design reports
• Assist the project teams with all aspects of project implementation, including but not limited to site inspection, quality, audits, reports preparation
• Review of material submittals, method statements and shop drawings during construction

Requirements

Requirements
• A degree in Engineering or Architecture, and preferably a postgraduate degree related to Facade engineering
• 10+ years’ proven experience in facade design and detailing in a consulting or construction company
• Strong background in materials and facade system detailing
• Working knowledge of relevant international standards
• Knowledge of applicable software
• Sharp knowledge of the engineering aspects of facades
• Strong communication skills and collaborative approach
