Contracts Manager - Airport Construction

Job description / Role

Required to join an international contractor working on the construction of an airport in Libya. Scope of work includes earthworks, runways, infrastructure and buildings. The successful applicant will

- Manage the projects contract administration framework, initiating change where necessary.
- Provide assistance to Project Management in all aspects of contract administration.
- Provide the Contract Management Interface during large scale contract negotiation.
- Manage the formal governance of the contracts, ensuring the contractors interests are represented in all contracts negotiations, and subsequent efficient management.
- Ensuring the proper preparation and documentation of all information recording events as background to future claims.
- In collaboration with other team members, mitigate claims and contractual disputes from subcontractors, and other potential parties.
- Assists contractual negotiations of sub-contract agreements.

Requirements

Requirements
- A degree in engineering or quantity surveying
- A chartered member of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors UK or the Institute of Arbitrators.
- Extensive experience as a contracts manager working on large civil engineering projects and preferably airports or similar
- An excellent understanding of international standard Contract forms e.g. FIDIC.
- Fluent in written and spoken English
