Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

This opportunity is with a prominent FMCG Multinational company in Morocco.

As BDM, you will create plans regarding accounts and be able to execute it effectively. You will interact with key accounts, service, and project engineers. You are responsible to identify new customer prospects with strategies and great negotiation skills. To develop a network of contacts, you will be doing research about new market trends, opportunities and then oversee projects.

The role involves you to build sales leads and pitch them to prospects. By informing others about the company’s product/service, you will serve as point of contact. With regards to new target market initiatives, you will do a lot of research, planning and implementation to move through the sales cycle. Quotes and proposals will be developed by you. You will also be involved in training business development staff. Besides that, you will follow up with new leads and referrals. Then status reports will be prepared. Tracking performance and reporting metrics are included in the role. While prospecting, you will maintain your expert knowledge by networking, events, and presentations. And then you will also meet and discuss strategies with managers and stakeholders regularly. As BDM, your valued prior knowledge should further improve and gain new ones for e better understanding and application regarding the FMCG industry.

The BDM role specifically involves outbound sales, sales processes, structure, and best practices.

Requirements

To be successful, you would ideally possess at least a minimum of 10 years in business development or a similar field which is specifically involved in the FMCG industry. You should be able to speak English and French. A degree in business is specified. Other than that, majors in marketing, engineering, or economics are suitable as well. Having experience in sales is required. Ideally, you have a track record or B2B experience. Being proficient in data analysis, forecasting and budgeting comes with the role. An understanding of local market and customers is something you should have while possessing strong negotiation skills and assessing activities under supply chain, marketing, and even finance.

As BDM, you should be sociable and have effective communication skills so you can collaborate well with people from varying departments. Being well-organized and systematic are key traits. You should be able to present yourself well to others while paying vital attention to details. While being an innovative leader, you will need to balance priorities and multiple tasks while leading juniors as well. You should always stay up-to-date with latest economic issues as the industry is always changing. In addition, strengths in marketing, business planning, sales and strategic management will allow you to further grow as a great BDM.
