Electrical, Instrumentation & Automation Engineer - Global Position

Our client Oiltanking has been active in tank storage logistics since 1972 and is today one of the largest independent operators of tank terminals for oils, petroleum products, biofuels, gases and chemicals worldwide. The company owns and operates 41 terminals in 18 countries with a total storage capacity of more than 16 million cbm, on five continents – in Europe, North America, Latin America, the Middle East, Africa, India, and the Asia-Pacific region. Clients include private and state oil companies, refiners, petrochemical companies, and traders in petroleum products and chemicals. Oiltanking is a subsidiary of Marquard & Bahls AG, an agile and independent holding company in the energy & chemical sector, founded in 1947.

With a strong customer orientation and a focus on safe, efficient and reliable services, Oiltanking employs a strategy of controlled growth of its tank terminal-based service network through acquisitions, upgrading of existing facilities and building new tailor-made infrastructure. Currently the group is in the process of developing NewCo, a carve-out out of Oiltanking which will be launched in 2022. This new company will have a very ambitious growth agenda in Petrochemicals, LNG and New Energies through significantly increasing brownfield, greenfield, EPC and M&A activities. Key priority and strategic mission is to become a front runner in Sustainability & ESG (Environment, Social, Governance). From the start its worldwide footprint will include 13 terminals located in the United States, Europe, China, Singapore and the Middle East.

To further strengthen the new Central Engineering Department (CED) as part of Assets, Operations & Safety (AO&S), Oiltanking has an exciting career opportunity available for a talented and experienced :

• Global Position - Based in Antwerp or Rotterdam

MISSION

• Key purpose of your role is to provide Electrical, Instrumentation & Automation engineering support to the engineering departments of the different operating companies as well as supporting the roll-out and implementation of the group's ambitious Automation/Digitisation road map for 13 terminals worldwide. You will report directly to the EI&A Engineering Manager.

Your Key Responsibilities include:

• Design & implementation of electrical and automation systems, components and applications within the regions on a global scale according to CED standards.
• Preparing and developing EI&A related calculations, specifications, schemes, PID's, conceptual studies, engineering documents and reliability/availability requirements for new builds or expansion projects.
• Ensuring that state-of-the-art quality, legal, timing & planning and budgetary requirements are met.
• Coordinating with the regions with regards to project & peer reviews, technical analysis and compliance with mandatory internal corporate specifications.
• Reviewing and discussing E&I CapEx proposals within the different regions.
• Liaising and interacting with customers, authorities, contractors and regulatory agencies.
• Acting as aproduct owner for ISA-95 Level 1 & 2 Automation Systems and driving standardization of Control Systems in the group.

Requirements

• To qualify for this role you have a Master or similar higher technical degree in Electrical/Instrumentation/Automation Engineering.
• You have a relevant and strong Electrical, Instrumentation & Automation background in the Oil & Gas, Chemicals or related industries, ideally in storage, logistics and distribution.
• You have a solid experience in EI&A design, preferably for storage terminals.
• You are detail oriented with strong IT/DCS interface thinking.
• You are familiar with DCS platforms of e.g. Emerson, Honeywell, Yokogawa, Endress+Hauser.
• You have the ability to initiate and drive projects with a strong sense of ownership.
• You have a strong HSSE awareness and you can demonstrate superior analytical skills in addition to excellent organizational and operational capabilities
• You have good interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a multi-cultural and global team.
• You are fluent in English (spoken & written) with knowledge of German and any other languages as an advantage.
• You are based in or willing to relocate to Belgium (Antwerp) or The Netherlands (Rotterdam).
• This position requires intensive travel across the globe.
