Employment: Full Time

We are currently working on behalf of a large International Holdings company who is looking to recruit an Experienced HR and Administration Manger for their Sanitation Services company in Lagos, Nigeria.

You will have extensive experience and knowledge in waste management, sanitation or similar industry. He/she will be responsible for developing and delivering people management strategies which support the organizational overall strategic aims and objectives by conforming to the centralized/HQ HR framework, but which are localized according to the current employment legislation.

Responsible for planning and administering policies relating to all phases of human resources activity and all administrative aspects of the staffing, facilities, procurement and database management and so on.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Strategic HR Management
- In consultation with the CEO and HQ HR, prepare and implement the annual HR Plan to support the overall strategic aims and objectives of the Organization.
- Manage the implementation of HR systems and develop where necessary.
- Manage the information held on the HR database and personnel files to ensure it is updated in a timely and accurate manner and complies with any legal or data protection policies.
- Identify, design and implement strategic HR projects, as and when required.
- Represent HR and participate in various internal groups and committees across the organization.

Resourcing
- Provide support to managers in the recruitment of all staff (expat & national).
- Participate in the selection of staff, as appropriate.

Employee Relations
- Advising, guiding and supporting Senior Executives in adopting best HR Practice and ensure policies; procedures and practices conform to centralized framework, but which are localized according to the current employment legislation.
- Develop, implement and maintain HR policies and procedures to ensure effective, fair and consistent management of staff throughout the organization and ensure that the staff handbook is comprehensive and up-to-date.
- Ensure that managers and staff are aware of the policies and procedures and able to operate them effectively by imparting periodical training programs & refreshers.
- Provide support to staff on HR issues, as and when required.
- Monitor and review the system of performance appraisal and continually develop as necessary, ensuring that annual appraisals are carried out in a timely manner and followed up.
- Ensure that staff are informed and updated on key business and organizational issues.
- Review and manage new starter and leaver processes, including conducting exit interviews for all staff.

Learning and Development
- In consultation with line managers, follow up individual development needs and source external training provision as and when required, monitoring training costs against budget.
- Administer the evaluation of all learning and development activities.
- Make recommendations on cost-effective training programs.
- Maintain training records for all staff and assist with any training initiatives, as required

Compensation and Benefits
- Gather and analyze market data to measure the competitiveness of the Organization’s compensation and benefits package, and make recommendations as appropriate.
- Assist with the annual salary review process, as and when required.

Requirements

- A Masters' degree in Human Resources Management or Business Administration.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience within waste management, sanitation or similar industry.
- Experience in a modern set up with technology solution and general best practice.
- Strong knowledge of Nigerian employment immigration, labor law and all such related regulations.
- Experience in managing a busy and multi cultural team within an intercultural setting.
- Proven success with organizational development, performance management, employee relations and communications required.
- Demonstrated leadership, interpersonal, organizational, facilitation and coaching skills.
- Excellent judgment and oral/written communication skills required.
- Ability to use a variety of problem-solving techniques to generate a range of possible solutions and help customers select, apply and follow through on solutions
