Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

The expert will be expected to perform various tasks and demonstrate through knowledge of ICAO standards and recommended practices for all aerodromes operational matters with special emphasis on Aerodrome certification, operations, safety, and emergency procedures.

Required to possess a good training skills to enable the transfer of knowledge and experience to Omani staff by way of formal and informal techniques.

Requirements

- Appropriate academic qualification in safety, electrical/aeronautical engineering along with a specialised training in Aerodrome Safety & Certification.
- A minimum of 18 years experience in Aerodrome Operations and safety compliance, including a minimum of 5 years as a civil aviation aerodrome safety inspector.
- Experience in reviewing new airports design, preparing, approving Safety Management system, aeronautical studies, airports emergency plans documents, and other related aerodrome safety and operations manuals.
- Proficiency in technical writing, drafting and implementing rules and regulations, office procedures manuals relating to aerodrome inspection and certification.
- Thorough knowledge of ICAO SARPS (Annex 14 and related documents).
- Ability to focus on specific aerodrome safety concerns as they arise and to identify potential problems before they have an impact on safety.
- Initiative, tact, sound judgment and ability to maintain harmonious working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Sufficient skill in the use of computer applications.
- Ability to conduct specialized technical training for Aerodrome safety and certification staff.
- Languages: Command of the English language and proven ability in preparing inspection reports and similar documents.
